Chief Happiness Officer

Earlier this month the Amarillo Symphony was part of the Ronald McDonald House of Amarillo 25th Anniversary Celebration. The Chief Happiness Officer, Ronald McDonald was an active part of the festivites. We paused to share a backstage photo moments before Ronald played his typewriter solo with the orchestra.

Headed to Chicago

It's true! In a few short weeks I'll be headed to Chicago. I'll be in Chicago for the League of American Orchestras National Conference June 10-12. If you will be in the Chicago area during this time and want to meet up, let me know. Most of my days are busy with conference activities, but I do have some down time in the evenings.

Following the conference I'll head to Milan, Illinois. My aunts will be hosting a bridal shower for me. :) Many of my family and friends will be in the area that day. After the bridal shower, we will have a graduation party for my cousin Kate. She graduated from high school last week! (Yikes, that makes me feel a bit old - there was a time when I was changing Kate's diapers!)

Should be a busy weekend in the weeks leading up to our marriage. The countdown is on!

Groom's Cake

In case you were wondering, Bryan's Grooms Cake will not look like this Steel Magnolia's treasure:

His cake will look more like this, well not exactly like this - afterall, it will be made out of cake!

We gave the cake decorators a picture of a Soundcraft LX7ii 32 channel mixer to serve as an inspiration for Bryan's cake. Needless to say, Bryan is a little excited to see his finished cake!

Invitations

My friend Janet shared her creative talents to help us create our unique wedding invitations. I have spent a few evenings this month prepping the invitations. Today I am working on assembling all of the pieces of the invitations.

Our big days is rapidly approaching and it is time to ask our family and friends to join us for the celebration.

Ice Plant

This is a picture of some of our ice plants. The plants started blooming about 2 weeks ago. The plants continue to produce fresh flowers daily, creating a seemingly neverending supply of flowers along our sidewalk. Bryan is especially fond of these plants and keeps asking when I will plant more of these.

I did some research about propogation for this plant, so hopefully I will be able to take some cuttings and get a few more plants started elsewhere.

Sunset in the Canyon

Friday night I was able to watch the sunset and the moonrise over Palo Duro Canyon. (I was attending a party at a ranch on the canyon rim.) Unfortunately, Bryan was busy working so he didn't get to watch this sunset with me.
