This evening's craft project

This evening's craft project is my first venture into beading without a pattern. I think this set of wine glass charms turned out rather nicely if I do so say myself. I thought they might add a little something special to an event that is next week. What do you think? Have you ever made charms like these for your wine glasses? I think if I did it again I would use memory wire. This time I used a fine guage wire that I had at the house. Any other recommendations?

Our Mix Tape

If Bryan and I had a mix tape, this would be it. These are the songs that we share with each other - often exchanging a line or a whole verse. These are the songs that make me smile in part because they remind me of Bryan.

Wedding Mints: Check!

Looks like my mom has been busy today. She and her friend Sherrianna spent a large portion of this afternoon making cream cheese mints for our upcoming wedding. These mints are somewhat of a wedding essential for our family, and mom graciously agreed to make these for our wedding.

The countdown is on! Two weeks from today - Bryan and I will be married!

Chicago Symphony

While in Chicago at the League of American Orchestras conference I was able to attend a concert of the Chicago Symphony. For the performance I chose seats in the Terrace Level. I'm especially fond of these seats because they allow you to see the musicians from above and see the face of the conductor.

While at these concerts, the techie can't stop looking at the production aspects of the space. For example, in this hall notice the lack of front lighting. The orchestra does not get lighting from front lights, rather a series of down lights that also include a portion of the main floor audience in the illumination.

And my fiancee would be proud, I also take time to admire a set of low profile speakers. If only our concert hall had such low profile beauties.

EB is going to sing!

It's true, my dear friend Eric Barry has agreed to sing at our wedding. Some folks even call him the Pavarotti of the Panhandle. We are delighted that he will join us for the wedding and even more thrilled that he will sing!
