Making some changes around here...

It's Spring. A time for a little bit of spring cleaning, a time for refreshing, a time for making a few changes. The latter is precisely what Bryan and I are trying to do. Hmm, might that be prompted by the annual visit to the doctor that o

As you may know, Mr. Bryan is a smoker. He's been a smoker for a long time. In fact, since I have known him, he has smoked over a pack a day. So, imagine my surprise when he says that he wants to reduce the number of cigarettes he is smoking - and so, far, so good!

And, he's not alone is his quest for a healthier self. For Lent this year I gave up caffeine and fast food. Yes, I've been an addict to both for many years. Since Easter was yesterday, I can now say that I was successful in this task and have not had either item in my diet for the days of Lent.

In addition, this Saturday marked the end of week 1 of our diet. The diet is certainly causing a change to our routine, but the benefits are noticeable. We have both lost weight in the first week (which is awesome!). But, more importantly we are eating better! Here's to week 2, and a continuation of our own version of Spring cleaning! Out with the badness!

A sure sign of Spring

A sure sign of Spring in Amarillo is a blooming Snowball bush. Some say that once the snowball bush blooms we are past the threat of a hard freeze. I hope that is so, because our bush has been blooming for several days. On the plus side, it also smells great. And, since I have yet to do any landscape planting at our house, this bush is sort of "it" when it comes to any interest in our lawn.

Maybe next Spring there will be a few more blooming plants!

Another black tie evening...

Thursday night was another black tie evening for Bryan and I. We headed to the Amarillo Golden Nail event, an evening to honor the many contributors to the Amarillo arts scene. While not the best picture of the two of us, it's a reminder of a light hearted moment.

Cheers!

Photoshoot in the middle of nowhere

This afternoon, Bryan and I joined the Harrington String Quartet for their photoshoot. These are the first images of the newest incarnation of the quartet. The weather was great, except for the wind. What, wind? Wind in West Texas? Clearly you have us confused wiht someone else!

I look forward to seeing the final iamages that Ralph Duke created today - and two the second part of our shoot on Wednesday afternoon!
