Concerti

Here's an image from another post-concert party at the citadel. (The home is aptly named that because it #1 - feels as big as the real Citadel, and #2, it's on a street called Citadel...creative nickname...i know)
Kelli, Chu-Fang and I are enjoying a photobug moment. I must say that Chu-Fang is simply one of the most spellbinding performers I have ever listened to. Her performance of the Grieg was impressive and working with her was a true delight. I hope that our musical paths cross again in the future. Chu-Fang performed with the symphony this weekend as another in our series of Van Cliburn winners.

Spider Sitting

Here's another incident from the, "It could only happen in West Texas" series:

This week I was asked to "tarantula-sit". Yes, it's true. One of my youth orchestra members had captured several of the critters, placed them in an ice cream bucket (thankfully sealed with duct tape by her father) and brought the spider to rehearsal for a show and tell. Yikes. Wisely, the youth orchestra coach would not allow the spiders in the rehearsal room because they would be too much of a distraction. That left me with the unusual task of tending the spiders. Oh my.
